Felicia Melton-Smyth Spirit Award

Sponsored by Shamrock Bar & Grille
The Badgerland Classic is proud to name the tournament spirit award in the honor and memory of Felicia Melton-Smyth.  Felicia's time, energy, and commitment to LGBT people and causes was without bounds, and her memory continues to inspire us today.

Felicia Melton-Smyth was Badgerland Softball's biggest fan and cheerleader. On May 26, 2008, she was tragically taken from us while on vacation in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Felicia used her voice as the cruise director of the Shamrock Bar to make sure all of Madison's LGBT sports leagues succeeded by promoting their fundraisers, hanging posters, and recruiting members. She was SSBL-Madison's (the precursor to Badgerland Softball) Community Service Chair and served on the Madison Gay Hockey Association's Board of Directors. The growth and success of Madison's LGBT sports leagues would not have been possible without her.
